Write for us
Urban Athlete Journal welcomes considered pitches about running, walking, cycling, training and the choices involved in moving through city life. We look for original ideas that help a general reader understand a subject, compare options or notice something worth exploring. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a concise description of the idea, the question it answers and why it suits Urban Athlete Journal. A strong pitch has a clear point, a distinct angle and a practical or explanatory purpose. Tell us what a reader would understand or be able to consider after reading it, and note any relevant experience or sources you expect to draw on without overstating your qualifications.
Subjects we welcome
We are interested in city movement as a lived practice: route choices, everyday cycling, walking habits, ways of making time for movement, training routines and thoughtful gear comparisons. We favour evergreen subjects that readers can use without needing statistics, first-hand tests or assumptions about local rules. Pitches should not depend on professional medical, legal or financial advice, nor on hazardous tasks or unsupported performance claims.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page to send your pitch and choose the editorial question option. Include a proposed title, a short summary, the category you think fits and a brief note about your approach. Please send a proposal rather than a finished article unless we have agreed otherwise. A submission is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for changes before accepting a piece.
